One of our good friends and the kids favorite Babysitter played the role of The Easter Bunny. We lucked out she had played the Easter Bunny at the city egg hunt and still had the costume for a few days so she offered to take pictures with the kids. She is so GREAT! Love ya Sarah!

Bluebonnets 2011

Our pictures in the Bluebonnets this year was an adventure it never fails that we have sun to deal with on the time we finally get to go. But we got some keepers. Thank goodness the only problem with wearing Easter clothes early is the grass stains in Dallas' pants but they came clean.

Brayden and Cady's Baptism

It was a beautiful day and everything turned out just wonderful. Grandma Dippold, Aunt Jessica, Hannah, Cameron, Aly, and Addi were all able to drive in for the event. Tim surprised the kids by showing up at the Baptism when we thought he could not make it. We enjoyed a wonderful program at the Baptism and afterwords went to Lunch with Tyler and Tierney at Red Robbin to celebrate Cady's Birthday and the Baptisms. We then went to visit the Dallas Zoo. We all got to enjoy the nice ride down on the train the kids just loved it, even though it was a terribly hot and humid day for the Dallas area. We enjoyed the time spent with family. Here is a video I made to show after the baptism of their lives up until now.

Graduation Cake

Okay so here is the finished product. The cake flavors were Strawberry with Strawberry preserve filling, Chocolate with Reeses Peanut Butter filling, White Cake with White Chocolate filling, and Banana with Reeses Peanut Butter filling. Everything turned out great and they all tasted soooo good. And all the kids got to eat a monkey.

Cady's Garden

Cady came home the other week with plants to plant that she had grown at school. So Bill fixed her a little spot and we gave her a few bags of seeds we have had since our failed attempts at gardening some 5yrs ago. She planted them with a few extra hands named Dallas and Brayden. After planting Dallas pulled up all the plants that Cady had brought home from school and they died but today we found her first fruit of her labors. She was so proud of her little radish and we are proud of her for being so good at watering and taking care of her garden. Way to go CADY!

Brayden's Turtwig Racer for Pinewood Derby he won "Most Artistic" I told him it would not win races but he did not care. What a GREAT ATTITUDE! Although it did win a few races too.

Cady and Brayden had 50's Day for the 100th day of school. I made Cady's skirt out of a skirt I don't wear anymore. It turned out cute. I just couldn't get Brayden to roll up those jeans...LOL. He just kept telling me "Mom, this IS how they dressed in the 50's with an open jacket".

This is Jeff and I he would be about 9 mo. and i am 2 and a half. at Christmas.

This is Easter time I am sure any picture with us all was sure to be easter it was the only time we got new dresses and possed for a family picture. With Jeff and his glasses which did not last very long he looks so cute mister man Dan behind me and Jessie is the baby it is funny she looks like Addy Jane in this picture.This is my first grade picture and one of my favorite pictures of myself with my two huge dimples. Blue and Gold Banquet

This is the cake I made for the Blue and Gold Banquet on Tuesday. It took me most of the day and I was in a lot of pain from standing for so long. But the cake turned out great. Everyone enjoyed the meeting and all the games that Bill worked on, he did a great job. I am so proud of him for all his thoughtfulness in helping make the meetings fun for the Cubs.

Thursday at playgroup we went to a park. It was beautiful the sun was shining there was a nice breeze.....well okay this is Texas and the wind was blowing us to pieces. So I failed at keeping the sun from turning my pumpkin into my pumpkin pie!

Today we journeyed to Burlington Coat Factory to check out their stock of Easter dresses before the supplies dwindled too low and we could not get what we wanted. Usually I wait until the last minute and have to settle on something that is okay and not really what I wanted. We found this great dress for $29 which also came with a doll dress that matches for like an American Girl Doll which Cady doesn't have but she put it on a Rabbit from Build a Bear. The cute shoes for $16, the gloves and purse for $1 each at Target. I am going to make a head band that matches the beaded waist of the dress. I am so excited that I found this dress it looks so beautiful and I am hoping for some wonderful Easter pictures in it come April.

Dallas and our cat Scooter love spending time together. Well at least Dallas loves spending time with Scooter. I am sure she enjoys the attention because she will seek Dallas out when he is crawling around the house. This morning though Dallas went a little too far and she scratched him so we will see how he reacts to her later. I am sure that they will still love on each other as soon as she comes in from outside. Yesterday playgroup was a Chucky Cheese and we had birthday cake. Dallas was covered in cake and I could not shove it in his mouth fast enough. He is so funny when he wants more food he will grunt really loud to let you know "I WANT MORE!" We are working on the baby sign language but let me tell you he is a pro at grunting. Amy's New Concoction

I love my sister Nicole's Chicken Alfredo so I had to figure a way to have it and not cheat on my diet so I hope you all like this Bill and I thought it was a great alternative.

Low Fat Low Carb Great Tasting Chicken Alfredo

Chicken Marinade

2c. water,1/3c soy sauce, 3tbsp splenda, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1tbsp ground red pepper, 2tsp hickory smoke flavoring, 2 tsp paprika, 2tsp garlic powder, 1tsp onion powder, 1 tsp ground black pepper. I marinade the chicken for 2 hours then grill.

1/4 cup Classico Red Pepper Alfredo Sauce in a jar. It is low in fat and carbs I add a little pinch of garlic powder, ground pepper, oregano, and basil. It taste so good you will love it! I put it on any type of mixed veggies I love the stir fry blend. Served with noodles. 1/2 cup noodles is about 43 carbs which is a serving in my diet and because I get 2 carbs at supper I get a whole cup of noodles and let me tell you 1 cup sounds sparse but it filled a full size dinner plate. I hope you all enjoy!

Cady has a problem with sleep walking. On many occasions we find her in weird spots all over the house. I guess she was dreaming of playing on the computer. Bill saw her walking around hours after they had been put to bed. This is how he found her. We took the picture to prove to her that this did happen because she gets so mad at us when we tell her what she does in her sleep. She still did not believe us.

Dallas loves drinking out of my cup this is his Kool-Aid mustache.

Dallas' transitional bath from the baby tub. It only took once for it to be the last time in the sink All the water in the sink ended up all over the counters. From that point on Dallas moved up to the big tub and loves it. If you ever lose him in the house you will find him ready for a bath and waiting on you.

Dallas is such a biter he loves his teething biscuits.

Braydens first Pinewood Derby Race and he came in 3rd in his den. His car "Dragonfire" is going to district. He also won the award for "Best Looking Car". Dad was proud! Bill's car was a shark and in the race between Father and Son.... Dad emerged victorious!
While on Christmas vacation Brayden and Cady learned to ride without training wheels so we got them both new bikes. They were thrilled.

Okay. check out this big mouse that Dad caught. I don't think we are going to catch any real mice this way. Yesterday while driving home from the Doctor I looked in my rear view mirror to find Dallas' happy smiling face. The little sucker had climbed out of his buckles.Cady is very artistic. She created this vase and picture all by herself she sneaks all of my paints and office supplies and goes off into a corner and reappears with art.

Happy Valentines Day! Thanks to my sister and my cousin for posting this blog of hairstyles. Cady's hair was a little shorter than the picture but it turned out cute.

Christmas Catch-Up

We had a wonderful holiday we were so blessed to be able to spend time with our family. We were able to visit all Grandparents in both Alabama and Florida. On our way to Florida we stopped for the night at my Mom's house and spent the night we were able to celebrate my nephew's 1st birthday and my niece's blessing on Sunday it was priceless because we usually miss out on these occasions because we live so far away. In Florida we started out having Christmas with Bill's Mom and his sister Cindy, Brother-in-Law Brian and his niece Kaycee and who could forget Jimmy. Geri, Bill's mom cooked a Sirloin Roast that was great. We had a wonderful time just having fun with everyone. The next day we went to Bill's Dads and spent time with Jim, Amy, Mike, Bill's Uncle Bud and Aunt Bette. Amy cooked a wonderful turkey with all the trimmings. We spent the day playing around the house. It was so warm the entire vacation we spent lots of time outdoors. Christmas eve we drove back to Alabama to a Christmas eve party with my family. Everyone was in attendance except Jeff who had to work and could not get away. We had tons of treats and we ate until our hearts content. All the kids went to Holly's to spend the night Christmas Eve. They had a blast Holly really went all out! She is such a Terrific Aunt. Christmas morning was very emotional since it was the first Christmas without my Dad. We all bawled and laughed and bawled some more. I was so thankful to be able to be there for such a special time for my mom. Jeff surprised us all with a package delivery on Friday of Kobe Steak. It was sooooooo good I feel like I could never eat another kind of steak ever. It melted in your mouth. Thank you Jeff, we loved it, now I don't know if I can eat the steak again at my favorite restaurant that we always go to for my birthday. We finished off our trip by stopping by our friends house in Louisiana. Pam is a great cook and fixed Bill his favorite Cajun meal, sauce pecant (well I can't spell it but it is chicken, sausage in a roux) It was just like we liked it "Fantastic". We got to play games with them until bedtime. The journey home was plagued with sickness while in Alabama as always a virus usually hits when kids get together and boy did it hit Cady. She was sick our first day in Florida but did not throw up but as we journeyed back to Alabama my sisters had gotten the virus and Cady threw up on our way home. Sickness did not escape us as we returned home on the 29th for New Years I was sick the whole day. Thankfully no one else got sick. So all in all we are so thankful that Bill had the extra long vacation so that we were able to spend time with those we love. It was a Christmas to remember.

Penguin Among Us

Brayden was in a play the first part of December called "How the Penguins Saved Christmas" he did a great job. I made his costume it came out pretty good. He was sooo cute! This is Brayden and Cady with friends from his 2nd grade class.

Thankgiving With Friends

This was our Thanksgiving Day Feast. We started the day at 2pm and ate and ate and ate until it was time to go home at 10pm. Thanks to Kathi for pulling out all the punches and setting a FABULOUS table. Brayden and Cady spent the night with Taylor because for the first time I got up at 4 to do the Black Friday Shopping. Dallas and I shopped until we dropped from 5am until 1pm to finish up our Christmas shopping. We got lots of great deals and only walked out of one store because of the lines.

Our Holidays started out with Thanksgiving Break, we went for some long overdue family time. We took a trip to the Dallas Zoo and afterwards we stopped by the Northpark Mall for The Trains at Northpark exhibit. The kids loved it and so did Bill since he loves model trains too.

I have never laughed so hard. As the weather outside gets colder tiny little creatures start to find their way into our house. Bill has waged a war against them with glue traps lining doorways to closets and pantries. But I hate to tell him that he catches Cady and Myself a lot more than he catches any mice. One day we were playing the Wii and we heard a noise. The cat had cornered a mouse and as all cats do she was playing with it catching it and letting it go so Bill decided that was not good enough and he proceeded to go on a mouse hunt with the cat. Let me tell you the cat was a lot quicker than Bill and then Bill would get mad at the cat because she would let the mouse go and then Bill would have to find it again. This went on and on,I just laughed and laughed. Although at one time I was having flashbacks of when my mom would try and kill mice in our house with my dad's boot and send the mice running straight for me.

Brayden's first Cub Scout meeting! He has been so excited to be a part of Cub Scouts and now that dream has come true. He had a great time at his first meeting where they learned about birds and made bird feeders and ate bird food for a snack.

Today Dallas had his 4 month appointment and while on the table waiting for the Doctor he surprised Mom and rolled over from back to front. Crawling here we come! Plus all went well he is growing well and back in the upper percentages for his age. Although he did not like the 4 shots he got at all. Poor Baby...

A Visit To School

Yesterday Bill went to Brayden's class to talk to them about Indian Dance and to show off his skills. He did a great job and all the kids loved it and had lots of questions. Afterward we made a surprise stop in Cady's class they were very excited also.

Our Sunday Drive

As we are on the 1pm rotation of our building we leave for church a little after 12pm or at least we try to leave by then so that we are not late. Although this is not the case most of the time. As we drew closer to church a good 30 minutes into our drive I heard Dallas sucking air from his bottle and looked around to find this sight. Brayden had taken over the bottle holding when Cady fell asleep but did not last long himself. He proceeded to drop the bottle and Dallas was trying to eat Brayden's hand while smashing Cady in the face with his foot. Needless to say, she was out cold.

Brayden's First Pack Meeting

Brayden is is ready to join all the fun of cub scouts and pack meetings now that he is eight. This was his first official pack meeting all about Books. Everyone dressed as their favorite book character. Brayden wanted to be Harry Potter. I don't know if its the fact that we do not even listen to anything else in our car but the Harry Potter CD's. As soon as we finish the seventh book we start again on the first I am addicted. Poor Kids, Cady always asks when Harry Potter will be over so that she may listen to the Backyardagains CD for just a little while.

Cady had to get in on the fun and we found this horse in the 50% off basket so she went as Jessie and Bulls Eye from Toy Story it was all we could think of with a girl and a horse. Bill the Cubmaster was Daniel Boone with his coon skin cap. Dallas is getting so big and it looks like he is turning blonde. I hardly recognize him when I wake him up in the morning.

A Spooky Halloween Good Time

The boys Nate, Brayden, Dallas, Kade, Jonah and we tried for Ian but he ran in the house.

On Halloween night we were able to go to some friends home where they had decided to set up picnic tables in their cul-da-sac and have a party with homemade chili, cornbread, rolls and I added in some yummy cupcakes from the store, like I have time to make homemade cupcakes no way. I am so thankful for the friends I have and the great husbands they had that added my two kids into the mix and took them door to door trick or treating down the street while I say and chatted away with the girls. Trunk or Treat

This is us on Thursday the 30th our ward had Trunk or Treat and the kids went to all the trunks in the parking lot of the church they had loads of fun and we got to decorate our Trunk for the event soooo fun. But we did miss our friends who did not make it... maybe next year. This is a video of what our spooky lights looked like during Trunk or Treat.

FHE Halloween Party

Bill's costume can anyone guess?

We attended a party for Halloween on Monday night for FHE. We had a great time there

were tons of great party platters of all kinds of gross looking food. Everyone outdid themselves. Everyone was in costume and the kids absolutely loved the games. Dallas and I went as Dalmatian puppy and Mommy. Although we do look like cows. Bill and I made my shirt that afternoon, I have to say Bill did a great job attaching dots don't you think? I didn't get any pictures of Brayden as soon as we walked in the door I did not see him until we were ready to go. But this is Sarah, Brayden and Cady's favorite babysitter.

Our first freeze of the winter a blistering 29 degrees on the 28th of October. There was frost everywhere and when I walked the dogs I froze with no jacket... silly me I am so stubborn sometimes. It takes a lot for me to pull the old jacket out. But the cold did not last too long it has been back up to the mid eighties for the last couple of days and I have been dying because we turned of the air conditioning in preparation for turning on the heater because we have to wait a good week or so to let our system dry out or it will fry some relays in the unit. I tell you if it is not one thing it is always another.

Is it the Roaring 20s? Or is that just Tim.

We were able to take Tim out to supper for his birthday on Monday night. We went to BJ's and the pizza was great. Tim has now moved into the 20's. Is this the time when I can have a go at Bill and tell him how old he is to have a Tim's age.....He would probably hurt me...LOL. We were glad to be able to see him since he is so busy with college and work. We hope you had a Very Happy Birthday! We love you!

Saturday was Brayden's birthday he turned 8. Bill was able to get the day off so we went and visited a couple of different places. First off we opened presents in the morning. Brayden had told me the night before that he wanted to be awakened with a present just like I had done with Cady on her birthday. So I had Cady wake him up with her gift. I wish I had video taped the event it was so funny. Brayden ripped open the package to reveal a Bakugan wrist launcher, he was so excited his leg was shaking like a dog when you get that right spot. You all know what I mean, can't you just see it??? SO FUNNY...LOL. This was his first Haos Bakugan he was so excited. Our next stop was to the Dallas Arboretum for their pumpkin patch. A great place for pictures. Here are a few. Taylor spent the night with the kids so she could spend the day with Brayden and Cady. She was a great help with Dallas and we enjoyed having her with us. After our brief stop at the Arboretum we went to the Halloween activities at the Dallas Zoo. Our friends the Angells and the Bairds were able to join us for all the fun activities and Bakugan cupcakes and because we all have Zoo passes it was cheap which is always a good thing nowadays. Here are the cupcakes I made to look like the Bakugans that Brayden collects. I also did the drawing underneath to look like the cards that you do battle with in the game although we lost it at the Zoo somewhere. I am sure Brayden probably be asking for a replacement. Ella, Brayden, Nia, Cady and Taylor with a witch who gave them all the witchy fingers they are now sporting. Jonah and Ian sneaking candy while everyone is looking at the new baby Giraffes.
We had such a fun day and Brayden repeatedly told us "Mom, this was the best birthday, Ever!" So, thank you to everyone for making it such a special day.

Cady's Kindergarten trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Here we are on the hayride. We had lots of fun at the pumpkin patch they had a pony to pet , a haystack to jump in , a bunch of swings in a big pecan tree and a maze. I was surprised that Dallas was pretty good for being out and about the whole day.

I came home from shopping for birthday presents and the weather was sunny 79 degrees at 2pm. I sat at the computer to catch up on stuff because the baby was being so good and stayed asleep in his car seat. When at 2:30 I heard a knock at the back door..... I got up to investigate and what do you think it was I found?????? The pool that we emptied yesterday to pack up for the winter was leaning against the house. I don't know how it managed to miss the power lines right above it. So I started to dismantle it because I could not pick it up to move it and the wind was still trying to pick it up again. It is and 18' x 4' round pool and after I got most of the poles out I was able to move it off the porch and go pick up the kids from school before the storm rolled in. So the kids and I in the now 58 degree weather with a sprinkle coming down put the pool up as best we could because we could not lift it we will have to wait for Bill for that one but we did manage to put a tarp over the pool so it did not get wet. I could not have done it with out my trusty side kicks Brayden and Cady. They pitched in without complaint and Dallas snoozed through the whole thing, very peculiar.

As the wind blows and the clouds roll... storms come in fast around here. Oh. let me tell you the really freaky part. I had a dream last week that while Bill was at work I folded up the pool all by myself and was so proud of myself that he did not have to do it. I even told Bill this dream later in the day but told him to dream on it wasn't going to happen that it was too overwhelming I could not do it. I guess I can even surprise myself by what you can do when you have to get it done.

Activity Days Daddy Daughter Party

Here I am with Dallas. I had originally bought a tiger costume and Bill wanted either the cow or bee but the bee did not have wings and so I returned the tiger for the cow and when I put the costume on at the party low and behold on the feet are paw prints so instead of a cow we ended up with a Dalmatian puppy tail and all. He looks cute even though I should have searched for a cat to match my costume. Oh well! There is always next year.
Brayden in his Red Ninja costume it was like his 5th pick they were out of Bobo Fett which was his first pick. Cady is a bride this year. At Party City she went through a few costumes and then we decided (Mom convinced he after long explanations) that we would go to Wally World and get the bride costume that we knew was there. (It was actually begging and pleading on our part. We were trying to stick to sale costumes and they were out of her size in everything.)
These are my fellow Activity Day Leaders (Melissa as Sarah, ME as Mary, and Martha as Winnie) we were the Sanderson Sisters from "Hocus Pocus" you would be surprised all of our Activity Day girls knew nothing of the movie. "I am soooooo old!" It is a classic, right? We were all suppose to be showing a little leg....Martha come on girl... well you can almost see my flashy socks. Anyway we had a blast and all of our girls looked great and the dads too.

Ward Campout at the Lake

This is the view from the group camp where the ward had a camp out on Friday night. We only went for the evening festivities. We cooked hot dogs, and had chili that everyone brought to share. I had a spoonful of every one's chili they were all great. The kids had loads of fun playing with all their friends that they miss since school started we don't get to see them too often.
We finished the evening with s'mores. YUMMY! While eating a s'more Brayden said "This is a dream come true". I asked him later what he meant and he said "my marshmallow was sooooo squishy". I myself would not know I am sticking to my diet and passed on the s'mores.

We went to a band fest to see Tierney and the Sachse High School Band preformance. It was really neat we all loved it! Tierney is the one with her Trumpet facing down next to the girl with her hand up. We left early but of the bands we did see they were by far the best! GO TIERNEY!
We stopped by the park to take some pictures of the kids. They are growing so fast! We also got to play with some friends we have not seen in a while since they are now in the other ward.

Tyler's Birthday

This was my attempt at a Wii cake. I already had an idea of the shape of the cake I wanted to do for his birthday and Tyler gave me a challenge of watermelon, this is our thing, I will have to post last years challenge it was pretty cool also. I looked everywhere for watermelon flavoring and ended up putting koolaid in the white cake mix with red coloring and chocolate chips for the seeds. I did not want to use buttercream icing because I was not to sure of the flavoring mixture so I used a cream cheese frosting and colored it green for the rind. I wanted to use fondant to cover the cake but that attempt failed so I used simple Betty Crocker store bought white icing, with fondant buttons and strap for the remote. A CD I made was to be inserted when Tyler arrived and was to give a clue to the inside of the cake.The CD had watermelons on the cover with the Happy Birthday written on it. I kept freezing the cake all day to keep it from falling over due to the weight and height. We decided to take Tyler out to eat at Chilis and I took the cake out before we left so it would not be completely frozen. Here we are at Chilis...

We had lots of fun and the food was great and this is how things looked when we got home...

It was a mess but it still tasted wonderful. Happy Birthday, Tyler!

Our Thursday night thing... taking the garbage out. Dallas loves to ride on the tractor to help Mom take out the trash. It makes Dad so proud. (That a Boy, Dallas!) Bill gets home so late we all pitch in so that he can eat and rest when he gets home. We look forward to Thursday night our favorite reality show Suvivior is on tv. We root for our favorite team and try and guess who will get kicked off. What a fun filled night!

Today was hat day at school. Each day it is some different for Homecoming week. Brayden was determined to wear his starter hat and had to have his Florida State jacket that he says matched. Go figure Burgendy jacket and blue and orange hat. He must get his color matching from Bill because that would drive me crazy! So I had to climb into his closet just before leaving for school what a mess. Cady switched her had half way through breakfast and she had to come back in from outside to find her sweater because it was 54 degrees outside this morning. But that did not stop Brayden from wearing shorts. Texas weather in the fall 50's in the morning 80's in the afternoon. Great weather, wish it would hang around longer.
